The Solaxx CLG115A-010 is the replacement salt cell for the PureChlor salt chlorine generator, rated for pools up to 15,000 gallons. It replaces the original cell and leaves the control box and plumbing as they are.
What the cell does
A salt system makes chlorine by passing low voltage current through salted water inside the cell. The plates that carry that current are consumable. As they age their coating is spent, output drops, and eventually the system reports that it is generating while the water tells a different story. That is the point at which a new cell fixes what no amount of adjustment will.
Check before you replace
Low output has several innocent causes. Salt below the recommended range starves the cell, cold water slows production regardless of the setting, and scale on the plates blocks the reaction. Clean the cell, confirm salt and temperature, and only then treat the cell as the problem.
Sizing
This cell is the 15,000 gallon version. Fitting an undersized cell to a larger pool forces it to run flat out and shortens its life, so match the rating to the pool rather than to the price.
