Product details

The Solaxx SafeDip is a handheld digital reader for pool, hot tub and spa water. One sample gives free chlorine, pH, salinity, TDS, ORP and temperature, with no strips and no reagents involved.

How it is used

Fill the cup built into the body of the meter with water from the pool, press start, and read the numbers off the screen a few seconds later. That is the whole routine. Nothing is added to the sample and nothing is compared against a printed color block, which takes the guesswork out of a reading taken in bright sun or in poor light.

Why the extra readings matter

Chlorine and pH tell you what to dose today. Salinity, TDS and ORP tell you why the pool keeps drifting. On a salt pool, salinity confirms the cell has the level it needs, and ORP shows whether the sanitizer in the water is actually doing work. Temperature comes with each reading, which is worth noting because chemistry behaves differently in cold water.
