The Solaxx GNR00003 is the flow switch with the round connector for the Saltron Reliant salt chlorine generator. It threads into the plumbing on a 3/4 inch male pipe thread connection.
What the flow switch does
A salt system must never energize the cell when water is standing still, because chlorine gas would build in the pipe. The flow switch is the sensor that proves water is moving, and the control box will not run the cell without it. That makes it a safety device first and a convenience second.
Diagnosing it
The classic symptom of a failed flow switch is a system reporting no flow while the pump is clearly running and the returns are pushing water. Before condemning the cell or the power supply, check the switch. It is the cheaper part and the more common failure.
