Product details

The Solaxx GNR00003 is the flow switch with the round connector for the Saltron Reliant salt chlorine generator. It threads into the plumbing on a 3/4 inch male pipe thread connection.

What the flow switch does

A salt system must never energize the cell when water is standing still, because chlorine gas would build in the pipe. The flow switch is the sensor that proves water is moving, and the control box will not run the cell without it. That makes it a safety device first and a convenience second.

Diagnosing it

The classic symptom of a failed flow switch is a system reporting no flow while the pump is clearly running and the returns are pushing water. Before condemning the cell or the power supply, check the switch. It is the cheaper part and the more common failure.

Matching the connector

Solaxx uses more than one connector style across its systems. This is the round connector version, so compare the plug on your existing switch before ordering.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which system does this fit?
The Saltron Reliant. It is the Solaxx flow switch with the round connector, part GNR00003.
How do I know which connector I need?
Look at the plug on the switch currently wired to your control box. This one has the round connector, so if yours is a different shape it is a different part.
What size is the plumbing connection?
3/4 inch male pipe thread.
My system says no flow but the pump is running. Is the switch the problem?
Very likely. The flow switch is the part that tells the control there is water moving. When it fails, the system reads no flow and stops making chlorine even though everything else is fine.
