The Raypak 010055F is the genuine copper ASME tube bundle for the model 206A atmospheric and 207A low NOx digital pool heaters.
Check the date first
Raypak lists this bundle only for models produced any time before July 2013. That is not a suggestion: the heaters changed, and a bundle from the wrong era will not go in correctly. Read the manufacture date on the rating plate before ordering, and confirm you have the ASME version rather than the non ASME build.
What the tube bundle does
It is the part that actually transfers heat. Pool water runs through the copper tubes while combustion gas passes around them, and everything else in the heater exists to support that exchange. When the bundle leaks, scales heavily or corrodes through, the heater is out of service until it is replaced.
Why bundles fail
Water chemistry, almost always. Low pH eats copper from the inside, and high calcium plates the tubes so heat cannot get through and the metal overheats. Getting chemistry under control before the new bundle goes in is what determines whether it lasts.
