The Raypak 010058F is the ASME tube bundle for the model 406A digital atmospheric heater and the model 407A digital Low NOx heater. It is the genuine Raypak part.
What the bundle does
Pool water runs through the bundle while the burners fire underneath it. All of the heat the unit produces reaches the water through these tubes, so the bundle carries more thermal and chemical stress than any other part of the heater.
Why bundles fail
Two things kill them. Scale builds inside the tubes when water is hard or the pH runs high, which insulates the water from the flame and overheats the copper. Low flow does the same thing faster. Water that is aggressive at the other end of the scale eats the tubes from the inside until they weep into the burner tray.
Match the bundle to your heater before ordering. The ASME version and the standard version look similar and are not interchangeable, and the same model number was built as both an atmospheric and a Low NOx unit.
