The Raypak 010367F is the genuine cupro-nickel tube bundle for the 406 and 407 pool heaters, in the version specified for units built before July 2013.
What the bundle does
The tube bundle is the heat exchanger. Pool water runs through the tubes, the burner fires underneath, and heat transfers across the tube walls into the water. Everything else in the heater exists to serve that transfer, which is why a bundle failure takes the whole heater out of service even when the burner, the controls and the gas train are fine.
Cupro-nickel
Cupro-nickel is the more durable bundle material and is the one specified where the water is harder on the heat exchanger. If the last bundle failed early, it is worth finding out why: chemistry that drifts low on pH, salt in the water, restricted flow through the heater and heavy scale are the usual reasons a bundle does not reach its expected life.
