Product details

The Lasco 448-015 is a 1-1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC cap with female pipe threads.

What it does

A cap seals the end of a pipe run. This threaded version screws onto a 1-1/2 inch male threaded pipe or fitting rather than gluing onto plain pipe, so it can be removed later without cutting anything. A threaded cap is often chosen over a slip cap for exactly that reason, on a connection that will need to be opened again for testing, winterizing or future equipment.

Fit and compatibility

It threads onto a 1-1/2 inch male pipe thread connection, matching the thread on a fitting, valve or equipment port rather than gluing onto bare pipe.

Before you order

Confirm your pipe end is threaded, since a slip cap is needed instead to glue directly onto plain Schedule 40 pipe. Wrap the male threads with PTFE tape or thread sealant before screwing the cap on to keep the joint from leaking.
