Product details

This Royal panel is sized for a 12 x 20 ft rectangular inground pool with no step to work around. The fabric comes out at 14 x 22 ft, and the extra foot on every edge is the overlap that lands on the deck once the straps are drawn down. Order by the pool, not by the panel: the larger figure is not a pool measurement.

Blue mesh fabric, published at 4.5 oz with a 385 PSI burst rating.
Rain and snowmelt go through the weave instead of sitting on the surface, so no cover pump is needed.
Straps sit on a 5 by 5 ft grid and tension against stainless steel springs.
Brass anchors tamp down level with concrete or paver decking and wind up with a hex key.
The kit carries the anchors and collars, the springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool, and a storage bag.

Because the weave lets some light reach the water, algaecide is commonly dosed at double the usual rate under a mesh cover. The level also climbs through the winter as rain drains in, so it is worth checking partway through the season. PoolTux publishes the warranty on this line as 15 years limited with the first 3 full.

What size pool does this cover fit?

It is cut for a 12 x 20 ft rectangular inground pool with no step. The panel itself measures 14 x 22 ft, which is the overlap that reaches the deck rather than a pool dimension. Measure your own pool at the water line, wall to wall, before ordering.

Is a winter cover the same thing as a safety cover?

No. ASTM F1346 sorts every cover into powered safety covers, manual safety covers, or other covers. A winter cover falls under other covers, and the standard states it is not intended as a barrier for children under five. Only the safety cover classes face the section 7 tests, and this panel is sold as a safety cover made to meet ASTM F1346.

Do I need a cover pump with this cover?

No. The mesh drains rain and snowmelt straight through into the pool, so there is nothing standing on top for a pump to pull off. A solid cover is the other case: it holds water on the surface and does need a pump.

What comes with the cover?

PoolTux ships the panel with its brass anchors and collars, stainless steel springs, a tamping tool, an installation rod, and a storage bag for the off season. The anchors mount flush with the deck and the collars are made not to corrode.
