The same Royal mesh panel in green, cut for a 12 x 24 ft rectangular inground pool with no step. The fabric measures 14 x 26 ft, so a foot of it reaches the deck along each edge where the straps run down to their anchors. Order against the pool measurement, taken at the water line.

  • Green mesh fabric, published at 4.5 oz per square yard with a 385 PSI burst rating.
  • Rain and snowmelt drain through the weave into the pool, so nothing stands on the surface.
  • Straps land on a 5 ft square grid and tension against stainless steel springs.
  • Flush mount brass anchors and collars tamp level with concrete or paver decking and will not corrode.
  • An installation rod, a tamping tool, and a storage bag come with the panel.

Mesh has one trade off worth planning for. Because the weave lets light reach the water, algae has something to work with over a long closed season, which is why the algaecide dose is commonly doubled under a mesh cover. The level in the pool also climbs as rain drains in, so check it before you open. PoolTux lists 15 years limited on the Royal, the first 3 full.

What size pool does this green cover fit?
A 12 x 24 ft rectangular inground pool with no step. The fabric is cut at 14 x 26 ft, two feet larger in each direction, and that margin is what lands on the deck. Measure the pool at the water line and order to the pool figure, not the panel figure.
Do I need extra algaecide under a mesh cover?
Commonly yes. A mesh weave lets some light through to the water, which is what algae needs over a closed season, so the algaecide dose is often doubled under one. Follow the directions on the product you use at closing.
How do I tell this apart from a winter cover?
By the label. ASTM F1346 requires under section 8.12 that a cover state its classification, so a safety cover is labeled as one and a winter cover is not. Under the standard a winter cover sits in the other covers class and is not intended as a barrier for children under five. This one is sold as a safety cover made to meet ASTM F1346.
Is a cover pump needed with this?
No. The mesh lets rain and melted snow through into the pool, so there is no standing water on the panel. Solid covers are the ones that need a pump, because the water stays on top of them.
