Product details

This King panel is cut for a 16 x 32 ft rectangular inground pool with the step centered on one end. The fabric measures 18 x 34 ft, so a foot of material lands on the deck at every edge, and the step panel is 8 ft wide and comes 4 ft back from the pool at the water line. It is a solid cover, which means the green sheet passes neither water nor light.

  • Solid fabric listed at 7 oz per square yard with a burst strength of 350 PSI.
  • A drain channel runs the length of the panel and a mesh drain panel clears standing water, with a cover pump as the other option.
  • Built at roughly half the weight of a full weight solid panel, which is felt on the day it goes on.
  • Straps sit on a 5 by 5 ft grid with commercial springs taking the tension.
  • Brass anchors and collars tamp flush into concrete or paver deck and retract with a hex key.
  • The kit includes the anchors and collars, springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag.

A safety cover and a winter cover are two different classes under ASTM F1346. Section 7 loads a safety cover on a pool wider than 8 ft with 485 lb, applied as 210, 225 and 50 lb over one square foot each within a 3 ft radius. A winter cover is an other cover and is not intended as a barrier for a child under five. Section 8.12 puts the classification on the label.

What size pool does this fit?
A 16 x 32 ft rectangular inground pool with the step centered on one end. The panel is 18 x 34 ft, which is pool size plus a foot of deck overlap on each side. Measure the pool itself at the water line and order by that figure.
Solid or mesh: which should I choose?
This one is solid, so nothing passes through it in either direction. No rain or snowmelt reaches the pool, and no daylight either, which means algae gets no light to work with over the winter. Mesh does the reverse: it drains into the pool and needs no pump, but it lets some light down, and the algaecide dose is commonly doubled under one.
How much weight is a safety cover tested to?
ASTM F1346 applies a static load of 485 lb to a cover on a pool more than 8 ft wide, put on as three weights of 210, 225 and 50 lb, each over one square foot and all inside a 3 ft radius. At 8 ft of pool width or under the figure drops to 275 lb. This panel is sold as a safety cover and is made to meet ASTM F1346.
What comes in the box?
The kit includes the flush mount brass anchors and their collars, stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool for setting the anchors, and a bag to store the cover in over the summer. The straps themselves land on a 5 ft grid in both directions.
