Product details

This Royal panel is cut for a 16 x 32 ft rectangular inground pool with the step centered on one end wall. The cover itself measures 18 x 34 ft, so about a foot of fabric reaches the deck on every side once the springs are set. The step section is 8 ft wide and 4 ft back from the pool at the water line, and that is the measurement to compare against your own step.

  • Green mesh rated at 4.5 oz per square yard with a 385 PSI burst strength.
  • Rain and snowmelt drain through into the pool, so nothing pools on top.
  • Straps on a 5 by 5 ft grid tie the panel down evenly across the opening.
  • Brass anchors sit flush with concrete or paver decking and adjust with a hex key.
  • Springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag are included.

Plan the opening while you are closing. Everything that falls on a mesh cover ends up in the pool, so the level will be higher in the spring and the chemistry thinner than you left it. Mesh also lets some daylight reach the water, which is why the algaecide dose under one is commonly doubled at closing. What you get in return is a surface that never holds a puddle and needs no pump sitting on it through the winter. Colour changes nothing here: green and blue are the same fabric and the same 15 year limited warranty, with the first 3 years full.

What size pool does this cover fit?
A 16 x 32 ft rectangular inground pool with the step centered on one end. The fabric is 18 x 34 ft, which is the panel and not the pool. Measure at the water line, since that is the dimension a safety cover is ordered against.
Does green or blue change how the cover performs?
No. The fabric is the same Royal mesh either way, listed at 4.5 oz per square yard with a 385 PSI burst rating, and the colour is a matter of which looks better against your deck. Both drain the same way and carry the same 15 year limited warranty.
What should I expect at spring opening under a mesh cover?
The water that fell through all winter is in the pool, so the level will be higher than you left it and the chemistry will be diluted. Because mesh passes some daylight, algaecide at closing is commonly doubled to keep growth down. Fine silt can also work through the weave, which is normal for mesh.
How much weight does the cover have to hold?
ASTM F1346 uses a static load test: 485 lb for a cover on a pool more than 8 ft wide, put down as 210, 225 and 50 lb, each over one square foot and all inside a 3 ft radius. Covers on pools 8 ft wide or narrower are tested at 275 lb. This cover is made to meet ASTM F1346.
