Product details

This King panel is cut for a 16 x 36 ft rectangular inground pool with the step centered on one end. The fabric measures 18 x 38 ft, which is the pool plus a foot of overlap onto the deck on each side, and the step panel is 8 ft across and comes 4 ft back at the water line. Both of those are worth checking with a tape against your own pool before ordering.

  • Solid green fabric listed at 7 oz per square yard, with a burst strength of 350 PSI.
  • No light reaches the water through a solid panel, so algae gets nothing to work with.
  • A drain channel runs the length of the cover and a mesh drain panel clears the surface, with a cover pump as the other option.
  • Straps land on a 5 by 5 ft grid and take their tension from commercial springs.
  • Brass anchors tamp flush into concrete or paver deck and wind up with a hex key when the cover comes off.
  • Anti rub strips sit where the webbing crosses the coping.

What makes this a safety cover rather than a winter cover is ASTM F1346. Section 7 loads a panel on a pool more than 8 ft wide with 485 lb, applied as 210, 225 and 50 lb over a square foot each inside a 3 ft radius. A winter cover is an other cover under section 4 and is not intended as a barrier. The label has to state which classification a cover is, under section 8.12.

What size pool does this cover fit?
A 16 x 36 ft rectangular inground pool with the step centered on one end. The 18 x 38 ft figure quoted alongside it is the fabric, which is a foot larger than the pool on each side so the edge lands on deck. Measure the pool at the water line and order by that.
Will the cover sit over my step?
The step panel here is 8 ft wide and reaches 4 ft back from the pool at the water line. Measure your own step along the wall first, then out into the water, and check both against those numbers. A step wider than 8 ft or deeper than 4 ft will not fit under this panel.
How far can I drop the water level before closing?
Cover makers give a maximum rather than a target, commonly no more than about 18 in below the top of the pool. The water underneath is what holds the cover up when snow sits on it, so going lower than the instructions allow takes away the support the panel is designed around.
What is the warranty on this cover?
PoolTux lists 20 years limited with the first 3 years full. That is the term for the King solid line. The King99 mesh covers carry a different full period, so check the line before assuming the two match.
