An 18 x 36 ft rectangle takes this solid Emperor panel, which measures 20 x 38 ft once it is laid out. That foot of surplus on each side is overlap: it carries the webbing past the coping to the anchors in the deck.

Blue solid fabric at 12 oz per square yard, PVC laminated, with a listed burst strength of 400 PSI.
The material resists ultraviolet light and mildew, and it lets no daylight reach the water at all.
The Aquaduck channel runs the length of the panel and keeps puddles from forming on top.
Straps sit on a 5 by 5 ft grid, so a tighter grid of anchors carries the load across the deck.
Brass anchors are non corrosive and tamp flush into concrete or pavers between seasons.
Stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag come with it.

A solid cover changes the closing routine in one place: water sits on the fabric instead of running into the pool, so a pump or a drain panel handles it. Set the pool level before closing no lower than the maker allows, commonly within about 18 in of the top, because the water underneath supports the cover when snow lands on it.

What size pool does this fit?

An 18 x 36 ft rectangle. The panel itself is 20 x 38 ft, and the extra foot on each side is overlap onto the deck, not pool coverage. Measure at the water line, wall to wall, and order by that number.

How does water come off a solid safety cover?

Three ways, and PoolTux lists all of them for this line: the Aquaduck channel built into the panel, a mesh drain panel, or a cover pump. The fabric itself does not pass water, which is the whole difference from mesh. ASTM F1346 section 7.3 asks a safety cover to clear substantially all standing water within 30 minutes of the rain stopping.

What does the warranty run to?

PoolTux lists 20 years limited on this Emperor cover with the first 5 years full. The detailed terms are set by PoolTux, so keep the warranty sheet that comes in the package. Keep the sewn label too, since under ASTM F1346 section 8.12 it is the label that states whether a cover is a safety cover or not.

What kind of deck do the anchors need?

Concrete or paver decking all the way round the pool. Brass anchors are set into the deck, tamped down flush so nothing sticks up when the cover is off, and raised with a hex key when it goes back on. A side with no deck has nowhere to anchor, and a strap that is not pulling does not carry its share of the load.
