Product details

An 18 x 36 ft rectangle with a centered step at one end is the pool this solid Emperor panel is cut for. The step section is 8 ft wide and comes 4 ft back from the pool at the water line. The cover measures 20 x 38 ft, which is the pool plus a foot of overlap on each side.

  • Blue PVC laminated fabric, 12 oz per square yard, with a 400 PSI burst rating.
  • The material resists ultraviolet light and mildew and passes no daylight to the water.
  • The Aquaduck channel is built across the panel so rain does not sit in puddles on top.
  • Straps land 5 ft apart both ways and pull against flush mount brass anchors.
  • Anchors are non corrosive and tamp down level with concrete or paver decking.
  • Stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag are packed with the cover.

The practical difference from a mesh panel is where the water goes. Solid fabric holds it on the surface, so a cover pump or a drain panel takes it off, and ASTM F1346 section 7.3 expects a safety cover to be clear of standing water within 30 minutes of rainfall stopping.

How big a step will this cover take?
Eight feet wide and 4 ft back from the pool at the water line. Measure your own step along the wall and then out into the water and compare. Those are the panel dimensions, not a range, so a larger step needs a different cover.
What does the 20 year warranty mean here?
PoolTux lists this Emperor cover at 20 years limited with the first 5 years full. The exact terms are PoolTux terms, so keep the warranty paperwork that comes with the cover. Keep the sewn label as well, because ASTM F1346 section 8.12 makes the label the place a cover states its classification.
Is a solid cover better than mesh?
They fail in different directions. Solid fabric keeps daylight and debris out completely, which usually means a clearer opening, but water stands on it and needs pumping or draining. Mesh drains into the pool and needs no pump, at the cost of some light getting through and the water level rising. This one is solid.
How high should the water be when the cover goes on?
No lower than the maker allows, commonly within about 18 in of the top of the pool. The water underneath is what holds the panel up when snow sits on it, so a pool drained too far leaves the cover unsupported. Under a solid cover the level stays roughly where you set it, since nothing drains through.
