Product details

An 18 x 36 ft rectangle with a step in the middle of one end is the pool this cover is cut for. The step section measures 8 ft wide and 4 ft back at the water line. The panel comes out at 20 x 38 ft, the extra foot per side being the overlap that carries the straps onto the deck.

  • Green King99 mesh, listed at 7 oz with a 670 PSI burst rating.
  • Melting snow and rain run through the fabric into the pool instead of collecting on it.
  • Ninety nine percent of the ultraviolet light is screened out, which keeps algae growth down over a closed season.
  • Straps run 5 ft apart in both directions and finish at flush mount brass anchors.
  • Tension-Tech springs hold the tension that keeps the panel flat and taut.
  • The cover ships with springs, anchors, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a bag to store it in.

Anchors need deck to go into, so the pool wants solid concrete or paver decking all the way round before this cover is ordered. ASTM F1346 is the standard behind a safety cover: section 7 loads a panel on a pool wider than 8 ft with 485 lb and asks it to shed standing water within half an hour of the rain stopping. This cover is built to meet it.

How big is the step section on this cover?
Eight feet wide and 4 ft back at the water line. That is the piece of fabric that extends past the rectangle to cover the steps, so your own step has to fall inside those two numbers. Measure along the wall for the width and out into the pool for the depth.
How many anchors does this cover need?
The straps sit on a 5 by 5 ft grid, and every strap ends at its own anchor in the deck. A tighter grid means more straps and more anchors, which is how the load is spread. Count the straps along each side of the panel to know how many holes go into the deck before you start drilling.
Should I buy mesh or a solid cover?
Mesh lets rain and snowmelt through into the pool, so no water stands on the panel and no pump is needed, but it also lets a little light through and raises the water level over the winter. A solid cover blocks light and debris completely, and in exchange it holds water on top and needs a cover pump. This one is mesh.
Where should the water level be when I close?
At or below the maximum the cover maker states, commonly no more than about 18 in below the top of the pool. The water is what holds the cover up when snow sits on it, so dropping the level too far takes that support away. With mesh the level rises over the winter, so it is worth checking before spring.
