Product details

The green Royal mesh panel in the 18 x 36 ft size, cut at 20 x 38 ft so a foot of fabric lands on the deck along every edge. That overlap carries the straps down to the anchors, which is what pulls the cover tight across the water rather than letting it rest on it. Take the pool measurement at the water line before ordering.

  • Green mesh fabric, published at 4.5 oz with a 385 PSI burst rating.
  • The weave drains rain and snowmelt into the pool, so no cover pump has to run on top of it.
  • Straps sit on a 5 ft square grid and tension against stainless steel springs.
  • Brass anchors and collars tamp flush with concrete or paver decking and are made not to corrode.
  • Springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool, and a storage bag are packed with the panel.

A safety cover earns the name by passing the section 7 tests in ASTM F1346, which for a panel this wide means carrying 485 lb applied as three weights inside a 3 ft radius. The cover label has to state its classification under section 8.12, so that is the check worth running on any cover used around young children.

What size pool is this green cover for?
An 18 x 36 ft rectangular inground pool with no step. The 20 x 38 ft figure is the fabric, cut two feet larger in each direction so the edges reach the deck. Measure your pool at the water line and buy against the pool number.
Will I have to run a cover pump?
No. This is a mesh panel, so rain and melting snow drain through into the pool and nothing collects on the fabric. A cover pump is what a solid cover needs, because a solid panel holds the water on its surface all winter.
What load does the standard require a safety cover to take?
ASTM F1346 section 7 applies 485 lb to a cover on a pool more than 8 ft wide, as 210, 225, and 50 lb weights, each over one square foot and all placed inside a 3 ft radius. Covers on pools 8 ft wide or narrower are tested at 275 lb. This panel is sold as a safety cover made to meet ASTM F1346.
What is included with the cover?
Brass anchors and collars, stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool, and a storage bag. The anchors sit flush with the deck once tamped in, so there is nothing left standing proud when the cover comes off for the summer.
