Product details

This green Emperor panel suits a 20 x 40 ft rectangle whose step is set to one side of an end rather than centered. The step section is 8 ft wide and reaches 4 ft back from the pool at the water line. Flat, the cover measures 22 x 42 ft, the extra foot per side being the overlap onto the deck.

  • Solid PVC laminated fabric, 12 oz per square yard, with a 400 PSI burst rating.
  • Opaque, and resistant to ultraviolet light and mildew, so no daylight gets to the water.
  • The Aquaduck channel crosses the panel and keeps rain from standing in puddles.
  • Straps run on a 5 by 5 ft grid into flush mount brass anchors in the deck.
  • Tension-Tech springs take the tension that keeps the cover flat and tight.
  • Anchors, stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag are supplied.

An asymmetric panel has to be ordered to match the pool, so confirm the step side from a drawing before you commit. And since the fabric is solid rather than mesh, water stays on top and a pump or a drain panel moves it, which ASTM F1346 section 7.3 asks be done within 30 minutes of rainfall stopping.

What does left step mean?
The step section is built into one side of an end instead of the middle, and this line is also cut with the step centered or on the other side. The step area itself is 8 ft wide and 4 ft back at the water line either way. Since the panel is not symmetrical, check it against a plan view of your own pool so the step section lands on the right side.
Which measurement do I order by?
The pool, 20 x 40 ft. The 22 x 42 ft figure is the fabric, sized a foot larger on each side so it laps the coping and the straps reach the deck anchors. Measure at the water line, wall to wall.
Is a cover pump needed on a solid cover?
Yes. Solid fabric does not let water through, so rain and melting snow collect on the surface. The Aquaduck channel built across this panel keeps puddles from forming, and PoolTux lists a mesh drain panel or a pump as the ways the water leaves. A mesh cover is the one that needs no pump.
What is the warranty on this cover?
PoolTux lists 20 years limited on the Emperor line with the first 5 years full. The terms come from PoolTux, so keep the warranty sheet packed with the cover, and keep the sewn label as well. Under ASTM F1346 section 8.12 that label is where a cover states whether it is a safety cover or an other cover.
