This King99 panel suits a 20 x 40 ft rectangle whose step is centered on one end. The step section is 8 ft wide and comes 4 ft back at the water line. Laid out flat the cover is 22 x 42 ft, and that margin is what reaches past the coping to the anchors.

  • Green mesh at 7 oz with a listed burst strength of 670 PSI.
  • Water drains through the weave into the pool, so the surface stays clear.
  • The fabric holds out 99 percent of the ultraviolet light that would otherwise feed algae.
  • Straps land on a 5 by 5 ft grid, and each one pulls against its own deck anchor.
  • Brass anchors tamp down flush with concrete or pavers and raise again with a hex key.
  • Springs, anchors, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag are packed with it.

Two habits go with a mesh cover. The pool level climbs all winter because everything landing on the panel runs into the water, so close no deeper than the maker allows and check the level before spring. Light also reaches the surface through the weave, which is why an algaecide dose is commonly doubled under mesh.

What size pool is this cover for?
A 20 x 40 ft rectangle with the step centered on one end. The panel measures 22 x 42 ft because a safety cover has to overlap the coping and reach anchors in the deck. Order by the pool measurement taken at the water line.
Is a cover pump needed with this cover?
No. Mesh drains through, so rain and snowmelt end up in the pool rather than on top of the panel and there is nothing for a pump to pull off. That is also why the water level rises over the winter and should be looked at before opening.
How do I tell a safety cover from a winter cover?
Read the label. ASTM F1346 section 8.12 requires a cover to state its classification there, and section 4 gives only three: powered safety cover, manual safety cover, and other cover. A winter cover is an other cover, and the standard says it is not intended as a barrier for children under five. Only a safety cover has to pass the section 7 load and drainage tests.
What comes with the cover?
Flush mount brass anchors, commercial grade stainless steel springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag. That is the hardware needed to set the cover on a deck that is ready for it. Anti rub strips are already built into the panel to protect the webbing and the coping.
