Product details

A 20 by 40 ft rectangle with a left hand step is one of the most common inground shapes, and this is the King99 mesh panel built for it. The cover measures 22 by 42 ft so that a foot of fabric lies on the deck around the whole pool, which is where the straps and anchors do their work, and the step section is 8 ft wide by 4 ft back from the waterline.

Choosing mesh over solid changes your winter. Rain and melting snow go through the weave and into the pool, so there is no puddle on the surface, no pump to check and nothing to siphon off after a storm. The trade is that the pool level rises through the season and a little light still reaches the water, so plan on rechecking the level before opening and on doubling the algaecide when you close.

How large a step will this cover take?
The step section measures 8 ft across and reaches 4 ft back from the waterline, on the left end of the pool. Measure your step at the water rather than at the deck edge. If it is wider than 8 ft or projects more than 4 ft, this panel is not the right match.
Mesh or solid, which should I choose?
Mesh drains rain and snowmelt straight into the pool, so it needs no cover pump and is lighter to handle. A solid cover holds that water on top and needs a pump running all winter, but it blocks light completely. This is the mesh version.
How quickly does the cover have to clear standing water?
ASTM F1346 section 7.3 says a safety cover must drain substantially all standing water within 30 minutes of the rain stopping. A mesh cover does that continuously, because the water is going through the fabric rather than across it.
How long is the warranty?
PoolTux publishes a 20 year limited warranty on the King99 mesh, with the first 5 years full. Keep the cover label with your records, since it also states the cover classification.
