This Royal cover is made for a 20 x 40 ft rectangular inground pool with the step built into the left side. The panel measures 22 x 42 ft, so a foot of fabric reaches the deck on each side and at each end. The step section is 8 ft wide and comes 4 ft back from the pool at the water line, and since it is sewn into one position, a left step cover will not serve a pool whose step is on the right.
- Green mesh at 4.5 oz per square yard with a burst strength of 385 PSI.
- Rain and snowmelt drain through the weave into the pool below.
- Straps on a 5 by 5 ft grid across the full panel.
- Brass anchors and collars resist corrosion and tamp level with the deck.
- Springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool and a storage bag are included.
The deck does as much work as the cover. Every strap pulls against an anchor set into it, which means a pool needs decking the whole way round before a safety cover can be installed properly. Brass anchors are made to tamp flush into concrete or pavers and wind back up with a hex key, so the deck is clear underfoot once the cover comes off in the spring. That tension is also what makes the panel behave the way ASTM F1346 expects under a static load. PoolTux warrants this one for 15 years, the first 3 full.

What size pool does this cover fit?
A 20 x 40 ft rectangular inground pool with the step on the left side. The 22 x 42 ft measurement is the panel, not the pool, and the extra fabric is what reaches the deck. Measure the pool at the water line before ordering.
What kind of deck do the anchors need?
Solid deck all the way around the pool, because every strap ends at an anchor set into it. Brass anchors tamp down flush with concrete or paver decking and are wound up and down with a hex key, so nothing is left sticking out of the deck in the summer. A pool with a side that has no deck needs that side sorted out before a safety cover can be fitted.
Which side is the left step?
Stand at the pool as you normally would and note the side the step is on. The panel is sewn with the step section in one fixed position, so a left step cover cannot be flipped to serve a right step pool. The step area here is 8 ft wide and 4 ft back at the water line.
Does a mesh cover need a pump on top?
No. Rain and melting snow pass through the weave into the pool, so no water stands on the panel. What does change is the pool level, which climbs over the winter and should be checked before opening.
