This Royal cover fits a 20 x 40 ft rectangular inground pool with the step centered on one end. The panel measures 22 x 42 ft, which is the pool plus the overlap that lands on the deck. The step section is 8 ft wide and comes 4 ft back from the pool at the water line, so take both of those measurements on your own step and compare them before ordering.

The strap grid is the part of the spec sheet that decides how the cover behaves. On a rectangle, straps run on a grid, and a tighter grid means more straps and more anchors carrying the same snow load, so no single point takes much of it. That is also what the static load test in ASTM F1346 is checking: 485 lb on a panel on a pool wider than 8 ft, set down as three weights of 210, 225 and 50 lb over single square feet inside a 3 ft radius.
