Product details

For a 20 by 44 ft rectangular pool whose step is on the left, this is the King99 mesh panel that matches. It finishes at 22 by 46 ft, a foot larger than the pool all the way round, and the step section it allows for is 8 ft wide by 4 ft back at the waterline.

Installation runs on brass anchors. Each one tamps down flush into concrete or paver decking, and a hex key winds it up when the cover goes on and back down when it comes off, so nothing is left proud of the surface to catch a bare foot in summer. Straps sit on a 5 by 5 ft grid and pull against Tension-Tech springs, which is what keeps the panel tight enough to take a load.

  • Rain and snowmelt drain through into the pool, so no pump is needed.
  • 99 percent of ultraviolet light is kept off the water.

What is the difference between the left step, center step and right step covers?
Only the position of the step cutout in the panel. The pool size, the cover size, the 8 by 4 ft step area and the hardware are identical across the three. Look at your own pool, note where the step sits, and order the panel that matches; this one is the left step version for a 20 by 44 ft pool.
Can I use a winter cover instead and save the difference?
A winter cover is a different product under ASTM F1346. It sits in the other covers group and the standard says plainly that it is not intended as a barrier for children under five. It also does not have to pass any load test. A safety cover does.
How far back into the pool does the step section reach?
4 ft from the waterline, across a width of 8 ft. Measure your step at the water line, since a step often looks wider at the deck than it is at the water, and check both figures before you order.
Can the anchors go into pavers, or do I need poured concrete?
Brass anchors tamp down flush into either concrete or paver decking and wind back up with a hex key. What you do need is deck the whole way around the pool, because every strap has to end at an anchor.
