Product details
The Jandy 8034J is a NeverLube backwash valve supplied with unions. It is the genuine Jandy part.
The NeverLube point
A conventional backwash valve depends on greased seals, and once the grease dries out the valve gets stiff, then starts to bypass. The NeverLube line is built to run without that maintenance step, which removes the most commonly skipped item on a filter service list.
Why the unions matter
Unions turn the valve into a serviceable component. Close the system down, break the two unions, and the valve lifts out. Without them, replacing a valve means cutting pipe and rebuilding the plumbing around it, which is how a one hour job becomes an afternoon.
What it does
The valve carries the filter to waste changeover. In the normal position water runs through the filter and back to the pool; in the backwash position flow reverses through the filter and out to waste, carrying the trapped dirt with it.
