Product details

The Sta-Rite 18201-0300 is a six position dial type multiport valve for 2 in. plumbing, molded in fiberglass reinforced ABS and supplied with PVC unions.

The six positions

Filter for normal running, backwash to reverse flow through the media, rinse to settle the bed afterward, recirculate to move water without sending it through the filter, waste to send water straight out, and closed to shut the valve. The seal inside is built to stop water crossing between ports, so a position means what it says.

What is in the box

The valve comes with PVC unions for the filter to valve connection and the connecting pipe that matches the side ports on sand and DE filters. The unions matter on service day: the valve can be taken off without cutting into the plumbing.

Before you order

Confirm the pipe size and the port arrangement on your tank. This is the 2 in. side mount version, so measure rather than assume.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What are the six positions?
Filter, waste, closed, backwash, recirculate and rinse. The dial turns to each one.
Does it come with unions?
Yes. PVC unions are included for the filter to valve connection, along with the connecting pipe that matches the side ports on sand and DE filters.
What is the valve made of?
Fiberglass reinforced ABS, which is stiffer than plain ABS at the same wall thickness.
Will it fit my filter?
It is the 2 in. side mount multiport for sand and DE filters that take this connecting pipe. Check the port spacing and pipe size on your tank against the valve before ordering.
