The CaliMar FB2010-B is the replacement strainer basket for the CaliMar CMAR15VS1.5 and CMARVSP3.0 variable speed pumps. It is the genuine CaliMar part.
What the basket does
Everything the skimmer misses arrives at the pump. The strainer basket catches leaves, twigs and grit before they reach the impeller, which is the part that cannot easily be cleared once it is packed. A basket doing its job is the cheapest protection a pump has.
When to replace it
Baskets go brittle after a few seasons of sun and chlorine. Once the plastic cracks or a section of the mesh breaks out, debris passes straight through and you lose that protection. Fit matters as much as condition: the basket has to seat properly in the pump body, because a basket sitting proud leaves a gap at the rim for debris to slip past.
