Product details
The Davey M1217 is the o-ring that seals the cell head on Eco-Matic ESC series and ESR series salt chlorinators. It is the genuine Davey part.
Where it sits
The cell head lifts off the housing whenever the cell is inspected or cleaned, and this ring is the seal between the two. It is under system pressure the whole time the pump is running, so once it hardens, flattens or nicks, the joint starts to weep and salt water finds its way onto the pad.
When to change it
Whenever the head comes off. The ring is a small part in front of an expensive cell, and disturbing an old o-ring is a good way to turn a working seal into a leaking one. A thin film of silicone o-ring lubricant on the new ring helps it settle into the groove without rolling.
