The Balboa G7417 is the remote FloThru heater for the Balboa VS100 spa system, rated at 4.0 kW. It is the Brand OEM heater for a VS100 installation where the heater sits in its own tube instead of being built into the pack.

How it fits the VS100

Balboa's VS100 tech sheet lists a 4.0 kW heater at 240 VAC as part of the system as manufactured, with the system running on a 240 VAC, 60 Hz, 30 A GFCI-protected service. The G7417 is the remote version of that heater. It is a different arrangement from a heater integrated into the pack, so it only suits a system laid out for a remote heater.

Choosing the right heater

Balboa builds a number of heaters that look much the same but differ in output, length and mounting style. The 4.0 kW rating is the one that goes with the VS100. Read the part number and the kW rating off the unit you are removing and match it to G7417 before ordering, rather than going by appearance.
