The Raypak 156A, model P-D156A, is a 150,000 BTU propane gas heater built for above ground pools and spas, with digital controls and electronic ignition. Part number 014786 is the liquid propane version rated for installations from sea level to 1999 ft.

More heat, faster

Raypak rates the 156A well above the output of typical above ground heaters, and the extra capacity shows up as a shorter heat up time. That makes it a fit for larger above ground pools, for spas that need to come to temperature quickly, and Raypak also lists it for inground pools. A heater this size lets you open the pool earlier in spring and keep swimming later into autumn.

Digital and self lighting

Temperature is set on a digital control panel and the burner lights electronically on demand, so there is no standing pilot to relight after a windy day. The heat exchanger uses copper tubing for quick heat transfer to the water.
