Product details

The Pentair MasterTemp 125 brings the features of Pentair's larger MasterTemp heaters down to a size that suits spas, aboveground pools and smaller inground pools. This is the propane gas version with the power cord included, part EC-462025.

Efficiency and control

Pre-mixed gas combustion gives the MasterTemp 125 a thermal efficiency of 82 percent, the highest in its class, which means more of the propane you burn ends up in the water. The LCD display and controller shows more operating information and offers better control than a simple dial thermostat.

Sizing

Plumbing connections are 1.5 in., matching the pipe used on spas and smaller pools. Pentair rates the heater for bodies of water up to about 15,000 gallons, including inground pools of that size, aboveground pools and spas. For larger pools, step up to a higher BTU MasterTemp.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Is EC-462025 the natural gas or the propane MasterTemp 125?
Propane. Pentair builds each MasterTemp 125 for one fuel, and the natural gas version is a separate part number.
Is the propane MasterTemp 125 big enough for an inground pool?
Up to a point. Pentair names inground pools up to 15,000 gallons, along with spas and above ground pools. Our pool heater size calculator will say whether 125,000 BTU/hr covers yours.
What warranty does Pentair give the propane MasterTemp 125, EC-462025?
One year, parts only. That is Pentair's warranty for its e-commerce (EC) models and for online purchases. The two years printed in Pentair's brochures is its standard warranty, which does not cover a heater bought online.
Where is the manual for the propane MasterTemp 125?
Under Downloads on this page, as the Owners Manual. It is Pentair's MasterTemp 125 Installation and User's Guide, part number 475000.
How far can the MasterTemp 125 be from the gas supply?
Pentair's brochure allows a 3/4 inch gas line up to 50 ft from the source. The gas supplier should confirm the line and regulator for a propane installation.
