Product details

The CMP 52000-200-101 is the genuine o-ring for the PowerClean salt chlorine generator models. It is a small sealing part, and it is the one that decides whether the assembly stays dry after it has been opened.

Why o-rings get replaced, not reused

An o-ring works by being squeezed. After a season or two of that it hardens, takes the shape of the groove it sat in, and loses the springiness that made it seal. Once the assembly is opened the old ring almost never goes back with the same result, which is why the o-ring is treated as a consumable.

Fitting it

Order by the part number so the size and section are right, because an approximate o-ring from a drawer of assorted sizes will usually leak. Wipe the groove and the sealing face clean before it goes in, and use a silicone lubricant made for pool equipment. Petroleum based grease attacks rubber over time.
