The Rola-Chem 570391T is a top mount flowmeter for 6 inch PVC, scaled to read 400 to 1050 GPM.
Where it goes
The meter installs into the top of the pipe, which puts the scale where an operator can read it while walking the equipment pad. Rola-Chem builds these to work with schedule 40 PVC pipe and to be compatible with practically every existing flowmeter, so replacing an older unit does not usually mean replumbing.
Duty
The meter is rated for water temperatures up to 200 degrees F, well past anything a pool circulates, which is what lets it live on heated commercial systems without the body going soft.
Why flow readings matter
Turnover rate, heater performance, chemical feed and filter backwash all depend on knowing the real flow rather than the flow the pump was rated for on paper.
