Product details

The Intermatic P40000RT1 is a 100 amp pool load center with eight breaker spaces and a built in 100 watt transformer, aimed at straightforward pool installations running a variable speed pump plus low voltage lighting.

One panel instead of two

The transformer lives inside the load center, so submersible pool lights and landscape lighting are fed from the same enclosure as the pump circuits rather than from a separate standalone transformer bolted to the wall beside it. The low voltage compartment was redesigned with an extended transformer cover to minimize the hum that these panels are known for.

Wiring it

The built in 8 pole breaker base accepts many brands and types of circuit breaker, and ground bars are provided for both the low voltage and line voltage sides. There is extra wiring space inside, brackets built in for single gang switches or GFCI receptacles so no separate stand offs are needed, and larger knockouts on both the low and high voltage sides. An exterior knockout was moved to the side to clear Intermatic extra duty waterproof covers, and there is a side knockout for an additional wiring device.

Enclosure

The housing is a heavy duty Type 3R metal power and load center, rated for indoor or outdoor mounting. This is line voltage equipment and should be installed by a licensed electrician to local code.
