The Polaris 6-116-00 is the genuine OEM jet body assembly for the Polaris 65 and 165 pool cleaners. It is the mounting point for the Y shaped jet sweep harness.
What it does
The long narrow end of the jet body carries a screw. Back that screw out and the jet sweep harness fastens on, which is how the sweep is driven and aimed. If the body is cracked, stripped at the screw or has snapped where the harness clamps on, the sweep will not stay put and the cleaner stops brushing the areas it is meant to reach.
Fitting
The wheel cage assembly sits over this part, so it has to come off to get at the jet body. The screw for the sweep harness is supplied with the assembly, so nothing has to be salvaged from the old one.
