The Polaris 6-210-00 is the jet sweep head for the Polaris 165 and 65 cleaners. It is the genuine Polaris part, molded in plastic.
What it is
The jet sweep head sits at the sweep end of the cleaner and it is the piece the filter bag attaches to. Everything the cleaner picks up passes through it on the way into the bag, and the bag hangs off it while the cleaner works.
Why it fails
The head lives at the business end of a machine that spends its life bumping into walls, steps and drain covers. Plastic that has been in sanitized water for a few seasons gets brittle, and the mounting area is usually where the crack shows up first. Once that happens the bag either leaks debris back into the pool or comes off entirely.
