Product details
The Raypak 007157F is the low water cut off PC board for model 992, 1262, 1532 and 1802 pool heaters. It is the genuine Raypak part.
What the low water cut off does
It is a safety. The circuit checks that there is water in the heater before the burner is allowed to fire, and it shuts the heater down if there is not. Without it, a heater can fire into an empty or starved heat exchanger, which ruins the exchanger in short order.
Check the water side first
A heater that keeps locking out on low water does not always have a failed board. A dirty filter, a valve left closed, a clogged pump impeller or a tired pump all reduce flow through the heater and trip the same circuit. Confirm the flow is right before you condemn the board.
Installation
This is a control board inside a gas fired heater. Have a qualified pool heater technician fit it, with the gas and the electrical supply isolated.

What does the low water cut off do?
It is a safety circuit. It keeps the heater from firing when there is not enough water going through it, which is what protects the heat exchanger.
My heater keeps shutting down on low water. Is the board the problem?
It might be, but check the water side first. Low flow from a dirty filter, a closed valve, a clogged impeller or a failing pump will trip the same circuit with a perfectly good board.
Can I fit it myself?
This is a control component inside a gas fired heater. Have a qualified pool heater technician install it with the gas and power isolated.
