Century BN35V1 Motor, 1.5 HP, 115/230V, 48Y Frame (SS)

The Century BN35V1, previously sold as BN35SS, is the 1.5 HP thru bolt motor found on a large share of above ground pool and spa pumps: Hayward Power-Flo LX and Power-Flo II, Pentair Dynamo, and Waterway Hi-Flo and Hi-Flo II side discharge pumps among them. Four thru bolts on a 5.146 in. circle hold it to the wet end, and the stainless steel 3/8 in. threaded shaft takes the impeller directly.

Electrical

Capacitor start, induction run, two pole, 3450 rpm, with a service factor of 1. It runs on 115 or 230 volts at 60 Hz, drawing 16.0 or 8.0 amps. Conduit entries are at 12 and 3 o'clock. The motor is thermally protected, class B insulated, UL recognized and CSA listed, and built to the UL 1081 design.

Mechanical

48Y frame with a 48/56 rigid base, rolled steel drip proof enclosure, sealed ball bearings at both the drive and opposite drive ends, counterclockwise rotation from the pump end. The shaft is 0.500 in. in diameter with a 2.375 in. extension and 3-1/2 in. shaft height; overall length is 12.08 in. and the frame is 7.50 in. long. Rated for continuous duty at 40 degrees C ambient.

Before you order

This motor is not California Title 20 compliant and cannot ship to California. Match the frame (48Y), horsepower and thru bolt mounting to your old motor's nameplate, and replace the shaft seal when you fit it.
