Product details

The Raypak B-R266A-EN-C is the 266K BTU ASME digital natural gas pool and spa heater, with a bronze header, a copper fin tube heat exchanger and a corrosion resistant galvanized cabinet, set for elevations from 0 to 2000 ft.

ProTek Shield

The heat exchanger is the expensive part of any gas heater and corrosion is what takes it out. ProTek Shield is a sacrificial module that corrodes in its place. It is designed to be eroded, so a shield that is visibly wearing away is working, and replacing the shield is far cheaper than replacing an exchanger. It is rated for chlorinated and saltwater pools alike.

Control

Digital IID control sets and holds the water temperature and does away with a standing pilot. The ASME rating is what commercial pools and many code driven installations are specified around.

Outside, year round

The low profile cabinet is corrosion resistant galvanized metal, built for weather and for a crowded pad. Confirm gas sizing, venting and clearances against the manufacturer instructions before firing it.

What is ProTek Shield?
A patent pending module that protects the heat exchanger by corroding in its place. It is easy to replace, and visible erosion of the shield is the sign it is working rather than a fault.
Can it run on a saltwater pool?
