Pentair Rebel/Warrior Drive Gear Kit, 360292

The Pentair 360292 is the drive gear kit for the Rebel and the Kreepy Krauly Warrior pool cleaners. It is the genuine Pentair part.

What the drive gears do

Both cleaners turn suction into motion through a gear train. Water pulls the internal mechanism, the mechanism drives the gears, and the gears step the cleaner across the floor. Those gears carry the whole load of that motion, so they are the part that wears out first on a cleaner that has done a few seasons.

How the failure looks

A cleaner that has lost its drive gears often looks alive. The hose still pulses, the mechanism still cycles, but the cleaner barely moves or parks itself in one corner of the pool. That combination, plenty of suction and no travel, points at the gears rather than the pump or the hose.

While you have it open

Pentair sells the scrubber gear kit and the cam and cam gear kits separately for these same cleaners. Once the cleaner is apart, look at all of them and replace what is worn in one go.
