Product details

The Poolstyle PS350 is a syphon cover pump for clearing standing water off a winter pool cover. It runs on gravity rather than power: squeeze the manual priming bulb to start the flow, and the siphon carries the water off the cover on its own.

Why get the water off

Rain and snowmelt pond in the middle of a winter cover and the weight pulls it down further, which collects still more water. Left alone through the season that load works on the cover seams and on whatever is holding the cover in place. A siphon pump is the simple way to keep on top of it without dragging out a cord and an extension lead.

What comes with it

The pump ships with a 15 foot discharge hose and the priming bulb, so there is nothing else to buy. Materials are non-corrosive, which matters for something that spends the winter sitting in standing water. For the siphon to keep running, put the discharge end of the hose lower than the water on the cover.

Does it need electricity?
No. It is a syphon pump. You prime it by hand with the bulb and the siphon does the rest, so there is no cord or outlet involved.
Is the hose included?
Yes. A 15 foot discharge hose is supplied with the pump.
How do I start it?
Squeeze the manual priming bulb until water moves through the hose. Once the siphon is running it keeps going on its own.
Will the discharge end need to be lower than the cover?
A siphon works on gravity, so the discharge end of the hose has to sit below the water sitting on the cover for the flow to continue.
