Product details

The PoolCleaner 2 Wheel is a suction side automatic cleaner from Hayward, part W3PVS20JST, rated for in ground pools up to 16 by 32 ft. It runs off the suction line, so there is no booster pump and no separate power supply.

Drive and flow

Patented self adjusting turbine vanes take the energy out of the water flow passing through the cleaner. Because they adjust, the unit keeps working when suction and pressure are on the low side. The same vanes fold so that larger debris passes through rather than lodging in the works.

How it covers the pool

An internal programmed steering system reverses the left wheel from time to time, turning the cleaner into a new direction. Five programmed turns ranging from 45 to 90 degrees keep the pattern varied, which is what stops it parking in a corner and leaves both the deep and shallow ends covered.

Obstacles and surfaces

Patented tire treads with wear markers give the cleaner traction to climb, and humps on the front tires help it over reasonable obstacles such as a main drain or an uneven floor. The adjustable skirts lift one at a time over whatever it meets while holding suction under the body, so it does not lose grip when it climbs.
