Product details

This is the Royal mesh panel in green, cut for a 16 x 32 ft rectangular inground pool with no step. The fabric is made at 18 x 34 ft, which puts about a foot of material on the deck along every edge. That overlap is structural: it is where the straps land and where the anchors are set, and it is why the panel figure is larger than the pool.

  • Green mesh fabric, published at 4.5 oz with a 385 PSI burst rating.
  • Rain and snowmelt go through the weave into the pool, so no cover pump is needed on top.
  • Straps run on a 5 by 5 ft grid, held under tension by stainless steel springs.
  • Brass anchors and collars are made not to corrode and tamp flush into concrete or paver decking.
  • The kit includes the anchors, the springs, an installation rod, a tamping tool, and a storage bag.

Safety covers anchor into the deck, so the pool needs deck on all four sides before one of these will work. Leave the water where the cover maker asks as well, commonly no lower than about 18 in below the top, because that water is what carries a snow load through the panel.

Which of the two sizes on the listing is my pool?
The 16 x 32 ft one. The 18 x 34 ft figure is the panel, cut a foot larger on each side so the fabric can overlap onto the deck. That overlap is where the anchors go, so it is never a number to order against.
What does my deck need for the anchors?
Concrete or paver decking, and it needs to run all the way around the pool. The brass anchors tamp down flush with the surface and wind up with a hex key when the cover goes on, then drop back level when it comes off. A side with no deck leaves straps on that side with nothing to pull against.
What is the warranty on this cover?
PoolTux publishes 15 years limited on the Royal line, with the first 3 of those years full. Keep the paperwork that comes in the storage bag along with the date of purchase, since the warranty is the maker's to honor.
Where should the water level sit under the cover?
At whatever maximum the cover maker states, commonly no more than about 18 in below the top of the pool. The water underneath is what supports the cover when snow builds on it. Mesh drains rain back into the pool, so the level tends to rise through the winter and is worth checking before you open.
