Product details

The Polaris R0547400 is the complete turbine gear assembly for the 3900 Sport pressure side pool cleaner, also sold under the P39 designation. It is the genuine Polaris part.

What it does

Water from the booster pump spins the turbine inside the cleaner. That spin has to be geared down and redirected before it can turn the wheels at a useful speed. The turbine gear assembly is the set of gears that does it, and everything about how the cleaner moves depends on that gear train being intact.

The symptoms

A worn or stripped assembly shows up as a cleaner that is clearly getting water and turning its turbine, but crawls, stalls, pulls to one side or refuses to climb the wall. Owners often chase the hoses or the booster pump first when the gears are the real cause.
