Quick overview

  • Complete system Sold as a full salt chlorinator system rather than a replacement cell on its own.
  • Rated to 15,000 gallons Sized for inground pools up to 15,000 gallons.
  • Inground pools Specified for inground installations, plumbed into the return line after the filter.
  • Salt instead of jugs A chlorinator makes sanitizer from salt already in the water, so there is no weekly jug to carry.
  • One part number to match CMARSHA15-3Y is the system code, and CFLH20-3 also appears against this listing.
  • Straightforward sizing Pick by pool volume first, since a chlorinator run past its rated gallonage works hard and wears early.

Product details

The CaliMar CMARSHA15-3Y is a salt chlorinator system for inground pools holding up to 15,000 gallons. It is sold as a complete system rather than as a replacement cell.

How a salt pool works

A chlorinator does not replace chlorine, it makes it. Salt dissolved in the pool passes through the cell, the cell converts it to sanitizer, and the sanitizer reverts to salt after it does its job. The result is steadier chemistry than hand dosing and no weekly trip to carry jugs to the equipment pad.

Sizing matters most

This unit is rated to 15,000 gallons. Sizing to your actual pool volume is the single decision that determines how long the cell lasts, because a chlorinator pushed past its rating runs longer every day to keep up and wears out sooner. If your pool is close to the limit, the next size up is the better buy.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size pool does this cover?
Inground pools up to 15,000 gallons.
Is this a complete system or just the cell?
It is listed as a complete system, not a replacement cell on its own.
Which part numbers apply?
CMARSHA15-3Y is the system part number. CFLH20-3 also appears on this listing.
Can I use it on a larger pool?
It is rated to 15,000 gallons. Running a chlorinator on a pool bigger than its rating means longer run times and a shorter cell life, so step up a size instead.
