Product details

The Hayward W3SAS-PRO is the Salt & Swim 3C Pro salt chlorinator sized for in ground pools up to 30,000 gallons. Instead of adding chlorine by hand, the system makes it continuously from the salt already dissolved in the water.

Running it

Output and status are handled from an LED control panel on the unit, and a super chlorination setting is there for the days when the pool needs a heavy dose after a storm or a crowd. Power is a plug into a 120V GFCI outlet, so no dedicated hard wired circuit has to be run to it.

Plumbing and installation

The PRO version is the 2 in plumbing model, and its cell vessel is glued into the pipe run rather than joined with unions. That is permanent work, and Hayward calls for a pool professional to do it. If you want to fit the system yourself, the plain SAS model uses unions that are not glued and works with 1-1/2 in or 2 in plumbing.
