Product details

The CaliMar CMARSHA40-3Y is a complete salt chlorinator system for inground pools holding up to 40,000 gallons. Cell and control unit come together as one package.

How salt chlorination works

Salt is dissolved in the pool water, and the cell converts it to chlorine as water passes through. The chlorine does its work and reverts to salt, so the salt is not consumed the way tablets are. What you get is steady sanitizer without hauling and dosing chlorine by hand.

Sizing

Match the system to the actual volume of your pool. This model covers pools up to 40,000 gallons. A chlorinator asked to serve more water than it is rated for runs at full output constantly and still falls behind, so if your pool is larger, choose the larger system.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What pool size is this rated for?
Inground pools up to 40,000 gallons.
Is this the full system or just a cell?
The full system. The cell and control unit are supplied together.
Can I use it on an above ground pool?
It is listed for inground pools. For an above ground pool, look at a system rated for that use.
What if my pool is larger than 40,000 gallons?
Size up. Running a chlorinator beyond its rated volume means it cannot keep sanitizer where you need it, so pick the model that covers your actual gallons.
