Quick overview

  • Genuine Intermatic Part number 124T1952, the factory insulator rather than a substitute.
  • Fits the whole T103 and T104 range Used in all T103 and T104 Series electromechanical time switches and mechanisms.
  • Clear material Listed as the clear insulator, so it is easy to tell from other pieces in the enclosure.
  • Electrical separation An insulator keeps live terminals apart from the metal around them, which is why a cracked one is not something to work around.
  • Serviceable part Sold on its own, so a damaged insulator does not mean replacing the whole time switch.
  • Kill the power first Isolate the circuit at the breaker before opening a time switch, and confirm it is dead before touching terminals.

Product details

Intermatic 124T1952 is the clear insulator used in all T103 and T104 Series electromechanical time switches and mechanisms. It is the genuine Intermatic part, sold on its own.

What an insulator does

Inside a time switch the insulator keeps the live terminal work separated from the metal parts around it. It is doing nothing visible while everything is intact, which is exactly why a cracked, charred or missing one gets overlooked. Once it has failed there is nothing holding that separation, so it is not a piece to leave out or improvise around.

Before you open the case

Switch the circuit off at the breaker and confirm the terminals are dead before you go into the enclosure. Pool time switches carry line voltage, and the T103 and T104 are wired straight into the equipment feed. Because this insulator is common to the whole T103 and T104 family, the same part covers switches and bare mechanisms alike.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which timers does it fit?
All T103 and T104 Series electromechanical time switches and mechanisms.
Is this a genuine Intermatic part?
Yes. Intermatic part number 124T1952.
Do I need one if my timer works fine?
Only if the existing insulator is cracked, burned or missing. It is a replacement piece, not an upgrade.
Is this safe to change myself?
Turn the circuit off at the breaker and verify it is dead before you open the enclosure. If you are not comfortable working inside a live rated time switch, have an electrician do it.
