The Raypak 019045F is the high limit 1 surface mount kit, the HL1 safety switch on the heater and the hardware to mount it.
What the high limit does
Every gas pool heater carries a high limit switch as a safety backstop. It watches temperature and opens the circuit when things climb past the limit, which shuts the burner down before damage is done. That makes it a protective device, so a heater that keeps tripping its limit usually has an underlying flow or temperature problem worth finding, not just a switch to swap.
Position matters
This is the high limit 1 kit. Raypak lists a separate high limit 2 surface mount kit, so confirm which position you are replacing before ordering.

This is the high limit 1 kit, Raypak part 019045F. The high limit 2 surface mount kit is sold separately.
What does the high limit switch do?
