The Hayward SP14341PAKA is the Jet Air III body assembly in the 1 inch by 1 inch configuration. Hayward paperwork also lists this same part number as the Vari-Flo jet body, so both names point at the one component.

What the body is

The body is the plumbed part of a jet: the housing that is set into the wall and connected to the water and air lines. The internal jet, the eyeball and the trim ring all seat into it later. Because the body is the buried half of the assembly, it is normally touched only during a new installation, a shell repair, or when the housing itself has cracked.

Getting the size right

Hayward makes this body in more than one connection size, and the sizes are not interchangeable once the pipe is glued. This is the 1 inch by 1 inch. Measure what is in the wall, or check the original build documents, before you order.

What do the two 1 inch sizes refer to?
They are the two connections on the body. This is the 1 inch by 1 inch version. Hayward also builds it as 1-1/2 inch by 1-1/2 inch and as 1 inch by 1-1/2 inch.
