What the leaf bag is for
It is the coarse bag. The mesh is open enough to keep water moving while it holds leaves, sticks and the bulky debris that lands in a pool after a windy night. That flow matters more than it sounds: a bag that has blinded off or packed solid starves the cleaner and it slows to a crawl long before the bag is actually full.
