The Raypak H000127 is the genuine replacement capacitor for the 5350, 6350 and 6200 heat pump pool heaters, rated 80+5 MFD at 370 VAC for the three phase configuration.

What the capacitor does

A capacitor stores and releases the charge that gets a motor turning and keeps it running efficiently. The 80+5 MFD rating means this is a dual value can: the larger section serves one motor circuit and the smaller section another, so a single part covers both.

The symptoms of a failure

Capacitors fail with heat and age. The heat pump hums but the compressor or fan will not start, the unit trips out, or a fan turns only when it is given a push. A can that is bulged at the top or weeping is finished. Because the ratings have to match, check the 80+5 MFD and 370 VAC figures against the capacitor you are pulling out.

Safety

A capacitor holds a charge after the power is off. Anyone opening the cabinet should be comfortable discharging it safely, or the job belongs with a service tech.
